YAGP & Prix de Lausanne Partner
Youth America Grand Prix, founded in 1999 to provide scholarships for young competitors, and the Prix de Lausanne, founded in Lausanne, Switzerland, in 1972, have partnered to provide finalists from each competition to benefit from the scholarship opportunities available to both. Finalists, who have not received a scholarship at one of the competitions, will be eligible to participate in the other without having to pass the selective rounds.
YAGP's competition occurs April 27-30, 2007 in New York City and will culminate in its gala, "Stars of Today Meet the Stars of Tomorrow" with professional performers from major international companies. YAGP will partner, as well, with the International Ballet Festival of Miami to create performance opportunities for YAGP participants alongside IBFM's international ballet stars. The new partnership provides more scholarships and performing opportunities for contestants.
